BACOLOD CITY, Sept 6 (PNA) — The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental entered into a partnership with the University of St. La Salle (USLS) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Negros Occidental to re-launch the Project Free Scholarship program.
The scholarships are intended for teachers who want to finish their post-graduate degrees.
A general orientation on Project FREE (Flagship to Reach Educational Excellence) Scholarship, headed by Dr. Elsie Coscolluela as project director, was held Saturday morning at the St. La Salle Coliseum.
Attending the event were Gov. Alfredo Maraňon Jr., St. La Salle officials led by Bro. Antonio Ceasar Servando, vice chancellor for administration, and Dr. Marie Therese Jochico, vice chancellor for academic affairs, and Dr. Juliet Jeruta, DepEd Negros Occidental superintendent.
Coscolluela said the Project FREE Scholarship hopes to aid hundreds of public school teachers, who wish to finish their master’s degree in pursuit of propagating educational excellence in government schools.
The Project FREE Scholarship will be formally re-launched in October this year.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will then be signed between the recipients, the Province of Negros Occidental, USLS, and the DepEd.(PNA)
