CEBU CITY, Aug. 23 (PNA) — The Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Commission (CPADAC) has given some P350,000 to different police stations in component cities and municipalities of the province to fund their anti-drug operations.
CPADAC co-chair Ivy Durano-Meca said the amount is being utilized for operational expenses in support of the program of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 dubbed as “Segunda Limpyo Probinsya.”
Meca said the CPADAC has adopted the program in collaboration with the Cebu Provincial Police Office.
“We really want to intensify drug campaign and simultaneous raids and arrests for the whole province. That’s our intention for having that program. CPADAC, being the lead agency in anti-illegal drugs, we came in to support our police,” Meca said.
Meca said the financial assistance made possible the series of anti-drug operations, which were conducted since August 18.
A week before August 18, police stations in different municipalities were asked to come up with a watchlist of drug personalities in their jurisdictions.
Meca said the police stations were also directed to have at least two successful anti-drug operations every week involving their targets.
A total of P1 million has been allocated by the province to intensify anti-drug efforts next year. (PNA)
