ILOILO CITY, Aug. 19 (PNA) — The Revenue District Office 74 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has satisfactorily met its tax collection goal for the month of July by amassing P512 million which is higher by more than P100 million vis-a-vis the national target, and even surpassing the July 2013 performance by over P150 million.
An ecstatic RDO 74 Chief Luis Alberto expressed thanks to both the city taxpayers and businesses for paying the correct taxes as well as their prompt compliance with deadlines which precipitated the tax collection windfall.
He attributed his office’s success for the month of July mainly to the effective programs laid down by BIR Commissioner Kim Henares, and cited the “Oplan Kandado” as an example which compels business operators to pay taxes on time.
With the city collection gathering pace even in the “lean months season”, Alberto said the government’s tempered support to all taxpayers through Commissioner Henares’ policies which exist in accordance with law will continue unabated as taxes are of paramount importance in the country’s economic health and growth.
