MOSCOW, (PNA/RIA Novosti) — U.S. food and beverage corporation PepsiCo is evaluating the damage Russia’s import ban will cause its Russia, Ukraine and CIS branch but said all its products sold in Russia are made in Russia, the company told RIA Novosti Friday.
“We have manufacturing operations across Russia and almost all of our products sold in Russia are made in Russia. We also source many of our raw materials from local suppliers. We abide by laws and regulations in all counties where we do business and are reviewing the new policy,” said Marina Zibareva, communications director at PepsiCo Russia, Ukraine and CIS.
The company has more than 30 enterprises in Russia, employing about 25,000 people.
The company invests more than USD 9 billion dollars in Russia’s economy, show the company’s data.
PepsiCo is among companies facing impacts of Russia’s one-year ban on agricultural and food product imports from Australia, Canada, EU, the U.S. and Norway which imposed sanctions on Moscow over the Ukrainian crisis.
The ban covers meat, poultry, fish, seafood, milk, dairy products, and fruit and vegetables.
