BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 10 (PNA) — The local government unit of Kayapa is expected to receive a P15-million funding assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) this year.
Vice Mayor Tony Wakit said the fund will be released anytime, as soon as the additional requirements are submitted to the concerned agencies.
“We are preparing the program of works for our proposed projects so that it will be released soon,” he said.
The P15-million DAR and DA fund will be used to fund various Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) and water sanitation and livelihood projects in their municipality.
Priority FMRs to be funded will be those located in far-flung villages which are used by upland farmers to bring their agricultural products to the market.
The LGU of Kayapa, he added, will also provide a counterpart fund of P1.9 million to the DAR and DA fund to maximize their purpose.
“This will bring forth valuable and worthy projects for our constituents so that their lives will be easier in this upland town,” Wakit said. (PNA)
