EEI Corporation signs NEPC Power Construction Corporation to build new coal-fired power plant

MANILA, June 26 (PNA) — The Equipment Engineers Inc (EEI) Corporation has signed with the First Northeast Electric Power Engineering (NEPC) Power Construction Corporation to be the company’s contractor for the construction of a 405 Megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Misamis Oriental.

In a disclosure with the Philippine Stock Exchange Thursday, EEI has specified that the power plant will be built inside the Philippine Veterans Investment Development Corporation (PHIVIDEC) Industrial Estate in Misamis Oriental.

EEI has stated that NEPC’s service for the construction of the coal-fired power plant will be worth P9.9 billion.

The NEPC Power Construction Corporation will build a clean fuel technology plant in the estate through a fluidized bed boiler technology, while EEI will be focusing on the civil, electrical and mechanical works.

The disclosure pointed out that the power plant is to be used by the Filinvest Development Corporation (FDC) Utilities.

EEI has also said that the latest project made them hit the P35 billion mark in terms of workable contracts.

It added that the transaction made the company hit an all time high for the entire existence of the company.

Currently, the company’s projects are mostly composed of domestic construction projects, while a third are being built abroad in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The projects are mainly high-rise residential and commercial buildings, infrastructure projects, industrial plants, wind farms and other power plant projects.

EEI has also mentioned that it has a working population of more than 24,000 workers overall.

The NEPC Power Construction Corporation’s has been around since 1951 in China and has been cooperating with various companies in over 11 countries for the construction of power plants. (PNA)
