MANILA, March 31 (PNA) — The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday clarified that the decision on the Marcos ill-gotten wealth case is still posted on its website.
The decision was issued on Feb. 8, 2012 and written by then Associate Justice and now Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P. Aranal Sereno.
The SC said that the decision was never concealed from the media.
The decision pertains to the P200-billion ill-gotten wealth case filed against the heirs of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos by the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) before the Sandiganbayan.
The SC ruled that the heirs of the late President Marcos will remain as defendants in the ill-gotten wealth case.
In a statement, SC Public Information Office (PIO) Chief and Spokesman Atty. Theodore O. Te said that the “the erroneous headline and “news report” will be addressed internally between the newspaper concerned and the PIO and is not a matter for reporting.” (PNA)
