CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, March 19 (PNA) — Some 268,000 city and provincial residents in Misamis Oriental would simultaneously receive the PhilHealth cards under the Department of Health’s (DOH) “Alaga ka PhilHealth Program,” Marlon Arabaca of PhilHealth said on Wednesday.
He said the program would be launched simultaneously in the province of Misamis Oriental on March 24 in coordination with the regional and local social welfare departments and local government units.
According to Arabaca, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the region and the city have identified and submitted the names of indigent residents as primary beneficiaries.
The ceremonial distribution, involving an initial 500 PhilHealth card beneficiaries, would be held in the covered court in Barangay (village) Macasandig prior to distribution of the PhilHealth cards to about 36,000 beneficiaries in the city’s 80 barangays here, Arabaca said.
He said that another 232,000 PhilHealth cards would be simultaneously distributed in the various DOH municipal distribution centers in Misamis Oriental.
Arabaca said that the DSWD’s National Household Targeting System has identified some 268,000 “Alaga Ka PhilHealth Cardholders” in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City, most of them recipients and members of the Pilipino Pantawid Pamilya Program or 4Ps. (PNA)
