Gov. Espino bats for service excellence

Posted on March 17, 2014

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, March 17 (PNA) — Customer service excellence is now the top advocacy policy of the present provincial administration under the stewardship of Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr.

This was after the Pangasinan Provincial Health Office received the certificate of registration from Certification International Philippines Inc. (CIPI) to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) level.

The governor expressed elation over the recent feat the province, saying that the ISO 9001:2008 certification manifests how systems in good governance are managed at the health office.

“If this is the basis of good governance and excellent management system then I am happy most especially because it happened under my watch. There is nothing more satisfying than providing the best service to our constituents,” Gov. Espino said.

Dr. Anna Teresa de Guzman earlier said that the certification was a result of two-year extensive research, brainstorming, and planning pertaining to the specific scope on the formulation of health plan, capability building, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs.

ISO 9001:2008 is a certification given to organizations and corporations, private and public, which upon audit and verification, confirm the requirements or standards of Quality Management System.

The requirements for this are anchored on work documentation, control of documents, control of records, management responsibility, provision of resources, work process and customer satisfaction.

Renato Navarrete, CIP Managing Director, commended the provincial government for the remarkable achievement, as he disclosed that more than the documents, support mechanism is very vital in sustaining excellent service.

The certificate was issued on January 23 and will be valid for three years until January 22, 2017. (PNA)
