CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, March 14 (PNA) –The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) regional office has lauded the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) for its successful implementation of the Alliance on Streamlining the electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (eBPLS) in Central Luzon.
The BPSU was able to customize the eBPLS of DILG for the municipal government of Limay that paved the way for the local government unit to utilize the system resulting to a more efficient and effective governance and management.
The implementation of the Alliance on the Streamlining the eBPLS in Central Luzon is an initiative of the DILG regional office in support to national government’s efforts in the pursuit of excellence in local governance.
This is in accordance with the thrust of the national government to curb red tape in the bureaucracy and rid the systems of delays and unwarranted requirements.
To realize the attainment of more business-friendly local government units, an innovative approach was employed by forging public-private alliance.
The DILG’s partnership with BPSU and the Bataan Chamber of Commerce and Industry have paved the way for the successful customization of the generic eBPLS software of the department for the pilot recipient municipality of Limay.
DILG regional director Florida Dijan said the municipality of Limay has benefited from the system through the improved and efficient collection of business taxes that resulted to an increased income.
With this, Dijan said the DILG is planning to showcase the municipality of Limay as “learning center” for replication of other LGUs in the Bataan. (PNA)
