Advisory council created to monitor “Police Patrol Plan 2030” in Ilocos

CAMP PRESIDENT QUIRINO, Ilocos Sur, March 10 (PNA) – Newly assigned Ilocos Sur police director Senior Superintendent Nestor Felix, announced that an advisory council was created to oversee the implementation of the Philippine National Police’s Patrol Plan 2030 here.

Felix administered the oaths of the officers and members of the Provincial Advisory Council (PAC) composed various multi-sectoral groups in the province in a simple ceremony in Makatarungan Hall at Camp President Quirino, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

The council is chaired by Dr. Jorge Reinante, the schools division superintendent of Vigan City Division of the Department of Education (DepEd).

“To effectively administer and accomplish our mission in the PNP, we from the Ilocos Sur police provincial office created the Provincial Advisory Council which will support, monitor and oversee this office in the successful implementation of the PNP Patrol Plan 2030,” Felix said.

He disclosed the council is part of the PNP’s Performance Governance System that helps improve the PNP’s peace and order agenda transformation and in upholding the rule of law.

“The primary role of the council is for the check and balance in the works of our police force,” Felix said..

“This move will promote good governance as a means to fight corruption, sustain economic growth, uphold the rule of law and maintain political stability in our province,” he added.

Director Victoria H. Ramos of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)–Ilocos Sur is the council’s vice-chairman; and the members are the following: Judge Bonhoeffer Vergara Bernardez (Judiciary); Lolita Rabanal (Napolcom); Freddie G. Lazaro Eliseo Contillo (Gumil – Filipinas); Professor Miriam Javier (Academe); Fr. Jack Cabatu (Religious sector); and Windel Botacion (Media Sector). (PNA)
