BAGUIO CITY, Feb. 14 (PNA) — Communication groups in Baguio City are ready for action for the two-day street parades for the 19th Panagbenga 2014.
Jose Alvarez, president of the Baguio Benguet Public Information, Communication and Action Group (BB-PICAG), in an interview said, his group is just among the many who will assist in monitoring the orderliness and security during the flower fest weekend.
Street dancing parade is scheduled on February 22 and the flower float parade on the next day.
The BB-PICAG will be deployed on February 21 on all the roads leading to the city.
Alvarez claimed that Baguio City will experience the worst traffic situation and the population may double based on the inflow of people during the Christmas Season in 2013. He said the congestion during the whole week leading to Christmas last year will be repeated in the two-day parade.
Alvarez, also an owner of an inn, added that this early, hotels are already full and transient houses will follow soon.
BB-PICAG was founded in 1975 and has since been assisting the Baguio City government all year round.(PNA)
