CAVINTI, Laguna, Feb. 14 (PNA) — The Laguna provincial government pledged to support and intensify tourism development and promotions of Cavinti following the success of the 1st Cavinti Watersports Olympic at the Lumot Lake here.
Gov. Estregan reiterated his provincial administration thrust Thursday to promote Laguna as a top tourist destination in the country with its vast potential in eco-tourism and adventure trek and extreme sports.
The Laguna governor and Cavinti Mayor Milbert L. Oliveros lead the recent tourism events of the town that highlighted various sports activities including, canoe and kayak racing, competitive bass fishing, carabao swim racing, underwater fish hunting and dragon boat racing.
The water sports Olympic fun and exciting games have drawn huge support from the National Power Corporation (NPC) through its president and CEO Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita with the Cavinti local executives and community organizers and business sponsors.
The tourism activities harnessed the rich natural resource of the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed and the scenic Lumot Lake in Cavinti similar to the popular waterskate boarding in Camarines Sur that lured thousands of tourists since the site was developed.
The governor has tasked the Laguna Provincial Tourism Office to undertake feasibility studies and coordination with the Department of Tourism to sustain the Cavinti tourist attractions especially the waterfalls and the town’s Underground River. (PNA)
