ILOILO CITY, Jan. 22 (PNA) — Iloilo Provincial Tourism Officer Gilbert Marin said that they continue to support the celebration of this year’s Dinagyang Festival, the highlights of which will be held on January 24-26.
Initially, the tourism office’s participation is the establishment of the judging area No. 2, located beside the Capitol building.
They also continued to support “Sinadya sang mga Banwa”, an annual activity for the province where there are kiosks at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol car park used to sell different products of the participating municipalities.
The “Sinadya sang mga Banwa” activity was previously managed by the Iloilo Tourism Office but for the last two years, the responsibility had been given to the Provincial Cooperative Office.
Moreover, they still conducted the Iloilo Travel Mart where there are exhibits from different municipalities, promoting their products at the lobby of Amigo Hotel, from January 20-26.
In partnership with the Canadian Embassy, they also supported the Winter Escapade program of the Canadians where they toured the Canadian visitors in Western Visayas.
The Canadian visitors arrived last January 20. They had a trade mission investment forum in the convention center yesterday and will hold a testimonial dinner with the governor, this evening.
“The tourist arrivals have increased yearly and we are doing an extra work to continue the increase,” said Marin. (PNA)
