CSC conducts simultaneous exams for gov’t career service on December 15

Posted on December 14, 2013

By Leilani S. Junio

MANILA, Dec 13 (PNA) –The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will be administering four examinations simultaneously on Sunday, Dec. 15 in testing centers nationwide to a total of 18,557 examinees.

Employees affected by rationalization of various government agencies comprise 48.32 percent or 8,966 of the hopefuls for the Career Service Professional and Sub-professional examinations.

“This is to give them a chance to obtain civil service eligibility and be considered for employment under the rationalized structure of the agencies,” said CSC chairman Francisco Duque III.

These employees may also include casual and contractual personnel, as well as those under job order and contract of service.

Regions with considerable number of affected employees include the National Capital Region (NCR), posting 3,387 examinees; Davao Region (Region XI), 990; Southern Tagalog (Region IV), 747; Cagayan Valley (Region II), 588; and Northern Mindanao (Region X), 547.

These special exams were supposedly held last Nov. 10 but had to be postponed due to the aftermath of typhoon Yolanda that struck the country on Nov. 8.

Regular Professional and Sub-professional exams will be administered to 7,464 examinees in Zamboanga City, Lamitan City, and Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

It may be recalled that the CSC has deferred the conduct of exams in these areas last Oct. 13 because of the then civil unrest in those areas.

On the other hand, there are 1,844 examinees taking the Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and 283 examinees for the Career Service Examination for Foreign Service Officer (CSE-FSO).

School assignments for the four examinations are posted at the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph.(PNA)
