MANILA, Dec. 12 (PNA) — The city government of Pasay is advising all motorists that the Pasay section of Roxas Boulevard will be closed on Saturday morning to give way to the “Santa Run Philippines: Be A Santa for the the Orphans of Yolanda,” a run for a cause to raise donations for the victims of the super typhoon.
In a statement Thursday, city spokesman Jonathan Malaya said the Santa Run Philippines is their biggest running event to help the victims and survivors of typhoon “Yolanda” that devastated Tacloban and nearby provinces.
“The highlight of this event is the gift giving, where everyone is invited to share anything that can help or alleviate the situation of the kids and other victims who survived the beatings of Yolanda,” he said.
Malaya said the northbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard from Baclaran to CCP complex will be closed from 1:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on December 14.
The southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard, however, will remain open to all types of vehicles until 4:00 am.
Malaya added that both the north bound and south bound lanes will be closed from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. All roads will be fully passable by 10:00 a.m.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes until after the event. (PNA)
