MANILA, Dec. 10 (PNA) — The government remains focused on attaining inclusive growth even if there is a decline in the satisfaction ratings of the Aquino administration.
“Ang pokus ng ating pamahalaan ay ‘di po sa survey results. Ang focus natin ay kung paano matatamo ang layunin ng Philippine Development Plan at ang ating pangunahing layunin ay inclusive growth, maging long term at sustainable ang ating economic development [Our government’s focus is not on results of surveys but on how we can achieve inclusive growth and have a long-term, sustainable economic development],” Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Herminio Coloma Jr said in a press briefing.
In the latest survey conducted by independent pollster Social Weather Stations, the Aquino administration’s satisfaction ratings dropped by ten points, from 66 last June down to 56. The survey was conducted from Sept 20 to 23.
“We will work harder to get the job done even if there is a decline in the ratings,” Coloma said.
The survey was done prior to the widespread havoc caused by supertyphoon “Yolanda” last month.
Coloma said as what Pres. Aquino would always say, he would continue to fulfill his mandate and do “what is right by our people” even if doing so is unpopular. (PNA)
