MANILA, Nov. 26 (PNA) — A Palace official on Tuesday reiterated the legality of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and said Pres. Aquino is ready to face impeachment charges should it prosper.
This was already answered by the president. He said he was ready to face the charges if a case is filed],” Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Herminio Coloma Jr. said in a media briefing.
According to several lawmakers, the use of DAP is unconstitutional and it could be a basis for an impeachment complaint against Aquino.
The president stands by the good governance principle. This is what guides him in his relationship with Congress and lawmakers],” Coloma said.
The president stands by his actions as chief executive in determining what is constitutional],” he added.(PNA)
