MANILA, Nov. 21 (PNA) — Controversial businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles will remain incarcerated at the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) Headquarters in Fort Sto. Domingo, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam and the P900-million Malampaya Fund scam.
This after Makati City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 150 Presiding Judge Elmo Almeda denied the petition for bail filed by Napoles.
The information was confirmed on Thursday by Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima.
The criminal complaint against Napoles arose from the case of serious illegal detention filed against her by main whistleblower in the PDAF scam Benhur Luy.
Luy was allegedly detained against his own will by Napoles and her brother Reynald Lim from Dec. 19, 2012 until March 22, 2013. (PNA)
