Globe Telecom puts up additional free calls, free cellphone charging centers in typhoon-hit areas

MANILA, Nov. 11 (PNA) — Globe Telecom has set up additional free call centers in seven sites in Iloilo, Romblon, and Antique hit by super typhoon “Yolanda” on top of its existing free call centers in Tacloban City and Roxas City while efforts are underway for the full restoration of communication lines.

Globe Telecom has also established 24 free cellphone charging stations in Leyte, Bohol, and Antique whereby generator sets serving in its cell sites are used to charge mobile phones to help residents in areas with no electric power as an aftermath of the typhoon.

The telecom company launched its first wave of relief operations in Panay Island (Iloilo, Roxas, Antique), Northern Cebu (Malapascua, Bantayan), and Leyte (Ormoc).

The telecom’s “Ka-Globe” in Cebu is repacking 1,000 packs of relief goods for distribution in Northern Cebu and Ormoc.

Iloilo: Overseas Worker Welfare Administration Office, Region VI Office, 3rd Floor, Robinson Mall, Mabini Street; Western Visayas Cyberlink Inc. HUB, Shoppers Avenue, Valeria Street; Globe Telecom office in JM Basa Street.

Romblon: Odiongan Commercial Center, Liwayway St., Odiongan.

Antique: Old and New Capitol, San Jose; Boss Radio, San Jose; Lauan Municipal Hall.
