Yolanda-affected persons in WV rises 1.4-M; families 300T

ILOILO CITY, Nov. 11 (PNA) – Typhoon Yolanda affected families in Western Visayas to 300, 668 or 1.4 million individuals based on the latest report released by the WV Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Monday.

Totally affected individuals stood at 1,415,745 with the totally damaged houses at 73,195 and partially damaged houses 85,213. There were 43 casualties in the region with the injured persons at 37, and 10 missing.

The number of family evacuees in the region totaled 69,812 or 335,315 persons.

As to the province of Guimaras, there were 456 affected families or 2,062 individuals. Only houses were totally damaged with 13 partially damaged.

Negros Occidental has 56,027 affected families or a total of 271,105 persons. The totally damaged stood at 6,025 while partially damaged houses totaled 22,387. There were 24,965 family evacuees or 124,825 persons.

Aklan has 23,777 affected families or 113,709 people. The totally damaged houses stood at 9,157 with 19,383 partially damaged. There were 3,453 family evacuees or 15,034 persons. The number of casualties totaled to five with two injured persons.

Capiz has 94, 824 affected families or 400,483 individuals. The were 16,750 totally damaged houses and 1,602 partially damaged houses. There were 15,211 family evacuees or 75,499 persons. The number of deaths stood at 24, 35 injured and one missing.

Iloilo province has 104,815 affected families or 555,768 persons. The totally damaged houses totaled 38,910 while 32,407 were partially damaged. There were 14,155 family evacuees or 67,777 persons. The number of casualties stood at 11 and one missing.

The death figure of the RDRRMC, however, is still way below the the 133 deaths reported by the Provincial DRRMC as of Monday.

Antique has 15,028 affected families or 43,913 individuals. The totally damaged houses totaled 2294 while 9,108 were partially damaged. There were 5,831 family evacuees or 21,413 persons. The number of casualties stood at four with eight missing. The casualties in Antique, however, is still the initial figure received by the Western Visayas RDRRMC early evening Monday.

Iloilo city has 5,741 affected families or 28,704 person. The totally damaged houses totaled 57 with 313 partially damaged. There were 5,741 family evacuees or 28,708 persons. All the evacuees have already returned to their respective homes Monday afternoon and evening.(PNA)
