MANILA, Nov. 10 (PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Sunday announced that the death toll for Supertyphoon “Yolanda” has now reached the 229 mark.
It added that 45 persons were reported injured while 28 others are still missing.
The NDRRMC did not give a breakdown on its latest casualty list.
The number of families affected by “Yolanda” is now placed at 2,055,630 (equivalent to 9,497,847 persons).
All of these people are from 7,027 barangays in 455 municipalities and 49 cities in 41 provinces in Regions 4A, 4B, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and CARAGA.
“Yolanda” also totally destroyed 13, 191 houses and partially 6, 360 in Regions 4A, 6, 8, 10, 11 and CARAGA.
The NDRRMC added that out of the total number of affected families, 132, 323 (equivalent to 630,054 persons) are now being aided in and out of government operated evacuation centers. (PNA)
