MANILA, (PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) announced Wednesday that the death toll for Typhoon “Vinta” has climbed to four with damage to property placed around P276.638 million.
In its 6:00 a.m. Wednesday update, the most recent fatality was identified as Reynante Binala, 41, of Batac City in Ilocos Norte.
The NDRRMC said Binala drowned last Oct. 31 and his body was found at Garasgas River.
“Vinta” affected 55,369 families or 265,769 people in 688 villages in 46 towns and one city in five provinces.
Of these, 14,655 families or 70,658 people were displaced.
Some 3,837 houses were destroyed while 32,745 were damaged.
Damage was estimated at P276.638 million, including P3.714 million in infrastructure and P272.924 million in agriculture.
