MANILA, (PNA) — Top Filipina cue artist Rubilen Amit emerged triumphant against Britain’s Kelly Fisher, 10-7, to win her second 10-Ball crown in the finals of the 2013 Yalin Women’s World 10 Ball championship on Monday night at the Resort’s World Manila.
With the score knotted at 4-all, Fisher calmly owned the next two racks to take a 6-4 upper hand but failed to sustain her deadly form after committing several miscues in Racks 11 and 12.
Amit seized the opportunity after claiming the next three racks to take a 7-6 cushion, but made a crucial mistake in Rack 15 after miscuing her push out that opened the door for Fisher who tied the count at 7-7.
Fisher had the chance to take the lead, but she made a costly mistake in the next rack after sinking the 5-ball at the wrong hole.
Amit capitalized on her opponent’s miscue after taking the next two racks to move one point away from taking the championship, 9-7.
Unfortunately, the Filipina failed to finish it off after committing a crucial miscue that gave Fisher a chance to steal the game but also failed to take momentum as the 8-ball rattled out.
Amit took advantage of Fisher’s miscue and calmly sank the ball to seal the victory.
The champion took home $ 21,000 while Fisher settled for $ 10,000.
