NEW DELHI, (PNA/Xinhua) — India is due to launch its first unmanned inter-planetary mission to the Mars Tuesday at 14:38 p.m. local time, said officials.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) officials said that the country’s first Mars orbiter mission is all ready to be launched.
ISRO satellites program director Mylswamy Annadurai told the media that all the people at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, south India.
Some 1,000 scientists have been making the last checks for the PSLV-C25 rocket to lift off carrying the Mars orbiter.
The Times of India said a Hindu prayer has also been held at the center according to a tradition followed by the ISRO.
ISRO chairman K. Radhakrishnan offered prayers at a temple, about 100 km from the launch pad Monday with miniature replicas of the rocket and the Mars orbiter spacecraft.
