DOLE signs industrial peace accord with Pampanga tripartite council, IBP

Posted on November 4, 2013

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, (PNA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Region 3 together with the Pampanga Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (PTIPC) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Pampanga chapter have joined forces to promote industrial peace and social justice in the province.

DOLE regional director Raymundo Agravante said the collective effort of the groups would help strengthen the harmonious relationships across the industries.

“I am confident that this collective effort will motivate us to work hand in hand to immediately resolve unwanted conflicts, thus, further sustain industrial peace,” Agravante said.

Under the agreement, the DOLE will provide assistance in the development of programs for the maintenance of industrial peace, employee protection and welfare development, and labor education and awareness; as well as provide technical data on regional labor demographics, survey statistics and other relevant information for the efficient implementation of such programs.

The PTIPC, for its part, will undertake projects towards the formulation of tripartite views, policy and program proposals, legislative proposals, and appropriate recommendations on labor, economic, and social concerns for submission to concerned agencies and partners.

The IBP, on the other hand, will provide pro bono assistance in form of legal education during labor and management fora, in the spirit of corporate social responsibility; fully participate and support group activities by providing free legal aid services (legal consultation and notarization) to participants and attendees in various joint activities of the DOLE-PTIPC and IBP; and render free legal opinion of the various formulated policies of the PTIPC to ensure its full compliance with law.

“The partnership indeed will be a legacy for DOLE Pampanga, PTIPC, and the IBP because we are all united with a common cause in promoting a culture of industrial harmony here in the region,” he added.
