PAGBILAO, Quezon, (PNA) — The Team Energy Corporation (TEC) Pagbilao Power Plant here plans to expand by some 400 megawatts (MW) more from its existing 730-MW power production to meet growing needs for power and electricity in the country.
Greg Romualdez, head of the TEC external affairs department disclosed recently the power firm would establish another facility to augment its existing power plant here.
The proposed facility will also be located within the existing complex in Barangay Pulo in Pagbilao, Quezon.
Romualdez said he has already informed TEC board members on the 400-MW power plant expansion.
He explained the project would generate more income from taxes for the host local government and Quezon province especially the proposed project would be undertaken through the privatized scheme.
The TEC external affairs chief also underscored that environmental standards will be strictly complied with on the new power facility.
The TEC currently operates its 730-MW coal-fired power plant under strict safety and environmental standards.
