MARILAO, Bulacan (PNA) — Traffic jam started in some thoroughfares of Marilao, Bulacan as one of its cemeteries, Lias Memorial Park, has no available parking space this afternoon for motorists visiting the cemetery.
Lias Memorial Park is located around 300 meters away from SM City Marilao and is near McArthur Hi-way and along Lias-Saog Road.
Parking spaces are very limited even the management allowed motorists to park their vehicles inside the cemetery.
Heavy traffic started more than 500 meters away along Lias Road and created a bottleneck in McArthur-Lias Intersection.
Stalls selling flowers, candles and food located beside the cemetery also contributed to road congestion.
Barangay traffic aids were assigned to manage the road situation in areas near the Lias Memorial Park.
People flocked to the said cemetery around 4 p.m. and more are expected to come in the evening.
Visitors said they opt to come in the evening to avoid the noon heat.
Police desk representative said they will continue monitoring the situation as many of the visitors will stay in the cemetery until All Soul’s Day, November 2.
