Compostela Valley launches own brand

Posted on November 2, 2013

DAVAO CITY, (PNA) –Products as well as services from Compostela Valley now have a distinct identity as the provincial brand dubbed “ComValOriginal” has been officially launched.

The brand was recently launched during the convocation program held at the provincial capitol in Barangay Cabidianan, Nabunturan.

Provincial Administrator Virgilia S. Allones and Executive Assistant Isabelo Melendres, representing Governor Arturo Uy, unveiled the “ComvalOriginal” logo before a crowd of officials and employees of the provincial government during its weekly convocation.

Department of Trade and Industry-ComVal Program Manager Lawyer Lucky Siegfred Balleque said that a brand indicates the quality and origin of the product or services bearing the brand logo.

“The brand is also an effective marketing tool to reach out to costumers as it identifies the origin of the product and/or service as well as depicts and promotes the image of the province as producer of quality products and services,” he said.

The provincial brand logo and tagline were officially chosen by the governor from among several entries submitted.

DTI Comval initiated the creation of a provincial brand through the newly-organized Designers Pool which submitted designs for a provincial brand logo and thru the Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Development (MSMED) Council. The Council then passed a resolution supporting the creation of the provincial brand and creation of a Selection Committee to select the top five entries from the 17 submitted logo designs.

This was further supported by another resolution requesting the governor to choose one logo design to become the official provincial brand logo and award cash prize to the winning design.

The provincial brand logo with the tagline “ComValOriginal” was designed by Mr. Ronald Generalao, a member of the newly-organized Designers’ Pool of Comval.
