ANTIQUE, (PNA)–The San Jose Municipal Police Station in Antique recently received 40 units of Glock 17 Generation 4 9mm pistols from the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6).
San Jose Mayor Rony Molina said the firearms are not only additional equipment for the town police but will also serve as moral booster to the policemen who dedicate their lives to make the community peaceful and orderly.
“Peace and order is one of the major factors that investors consider when deciding to invest here in San Jose. I am happy that we have the full support of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in attaining our goal on peace and order,” the mayor said.
He added that he is most confident that newly-installed chief of police, Chief Insp. Jay Malong, can perform well as he has the right qualifications to lead the town police.
For his part, Malong thanked the PNP for the new firearms, saying that the additional equipment will boost the morale of his men and will inspire them to perform their tasks as peace officers.
Senior Supt. Celestino Guara, director of Antique Police Provincial Office, said they are also expecting the arrival of more than 100 firearms in the coming weeks.
