ZAMBOANGA CITY, (PNA) -–The City Health Office (CHO) is establishing medical health stations in major public and private cemeteries here to cater to the health needs of people during All Saints and All Souls Days observance in this city.
CHO Medical Officer Dr. Abdel Sakili said Wednesday that personnel to include physicians, nurses and midwives will man the different health stations.
Sakili said that each of the health stations will be equipped with ambulance to transport patients to the hospital as the need arises.
“We have doctors to evaluate and assess the patients. In cases of emergency, the ambulance will be bringing them to the hospital,” Sakili said.
He said the health stations will be established at Forest Lake, the largest private cemetery here, and in the biggest public cemeteries in the Barangays of Ayala, Baliwasan, Mercedes, San Roque, Sta. Maria, Sta. Cruz, Talon-Talon and Tetuan.
He advised the public to take their breakfast as well as medicines for those who are under medication before going to the cemetery.
“If they will have to bring their children, watch over them to avoid accidents,” he added.
He said the common problems being experienced by people flocking to the cemeteries during All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days are fatigue and hypertension.
Thousands of people are expected to troop to the cemeteries to pay respect to their respective loved ones during the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Days.
