Posted on October 30, 2013

By Antonet A. Go

ZAMBOANGA CITY, (PNA) -– Newly-installed Revenue District Officer (RDO) Cresencio Agad on Wednesday called on the public to help them improve the collection of taxes in this city.

Agad made the call, citing the latest reshuffle implemented last month in the agency by Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares is geared towards improving the tax collection.

“The reshuffling is to improve our collection and let other overstaying RDO’s to also function in a different place,” Agad said.

“To my fellow taxpayers, help us improve our tax collections,” Agad added.

Agad, whose assignment here is effective last September 27, has replaced Merlyn Vicente as the head of the Revenue District No. 93-A, which has jurisdiction over this city.

Vicente was reassigned to the province of Bukidnon.

Agad has just assumed recently as the BIR office here was closed due to the standoff brought about by the infiltration of rebels last September 9.

The BIR office is located near to Barangay Sta. Barbara, the site of fierce fighting, although geographically located in Barangay Zone IV.

Agad was the RDO of Dumaguete City for four years prior to his assignment in this city.

However, Agad is not new in this city since he already served as the RDO from 2003 to 2005 here aside from being a Zamboangueño.

Aside from this city, the cities of Dipolog and Pagadian as well as the province of Zamboanga Sibugay have new RDO.
