ILOILO CITY, (PNA) –Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog here said on Wednesday the city government is looking for at least a hectare property as site for another cemetery.
The public cemetery along Tanza and Delgado streets in Molo district is set for total rehabilitation. Aside from the Tanza cemetery, the city government also maintains cemeteries in La Paz and Jaro districts.
Mabilog said the columbarium project at the Tanza cemetery was put on hold as there is still a need to conduct a dialogue with the families of the dead.
During the observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days this week, the mayor said policemen and other law enforcers will be deployed at the city’s cemeteries.
He reminded everyone on the prohibition of sound system, radio sets, hard drinks, bladed weapons and firearms inside the cemetery this Nov. 1 and 2.
