BACOLOD CITY, (PNA) -– The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) have intensified security measures for the observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov 1 and 2, respectively.
Senior Supt. Milko Lirazan, director of NOPPO, said the Oplan Kaluluwa is in place to ensure peace and order in cemeteries and other public places in the province.
Lirazan said 1,500 policemen will be deployed across the province during the holidays to conduct checkpoints in strategic areas and to intensify visibility operations in various areas, including transport terminals.
Meanwhile, the BCPO is also carrying out the “Implan Kaluluwa” to ensure the safety and well-being of city residents on Nov. 1 and 2.
Between Oct. 1 and Nov. 2, policemen on foot, mobile and bike patrols will be assigned to secure private and public cemeteries and vital installations such government offices, oil depots and shopping malls.
The BCPO is also setting up police assistance desks in nine cemeteries and memorial parks, and in transport terminals here.
