ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya, (PNA) — The Aritao Police Station (APS) here Wednesday said it is implementing security measures under the annual “Oplan Kaluluwa” to assure the safety and welfare of the thousands of visitors in observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2.
Police chief inspector Chevalier Iringan, town police chief, said the measures include the deployment of more police, barangay tanod and security personnel in areas where people converge such as cemeteries, malls, markets and others.
Iringan also said that patrols will be maximized in all areas, particularly in villages where there will be unguarded houses as the people flock to cemeteries to visit their departed loved ones.
He said there will also police using bicycles that will augment patrolling the town.
He said that various communication, barangay officials, and other civic groups are also ready to assist the police in maintaining peace and order during the two-day tradition honoring the departed.
Like in the past, a good number of foreign and local visitors are expected to swarm in this town on Friday and Saturday.
Among the early arrivals here include those making bulk orders for fresh flowers and those who have to visit and clean the tombs of their loved ones to avoid the usual mammoth crowd during All Saints Day.
