ZAMBOANGA CITY, (PNA) – The Pag-IBIG Fund has so far approved the release of P73 million in loans to some 4,200 Fund members in this city.
This amount represent part of the total calamity and housing loan applications received by Pag-IBIG from some 8,000 members as of Friday. The Fund has some 131,000 members in this city.
The Pag-IBIG has started processing calamity loans by the middle of last month and introduced housing loans on the first day of this month.
The calamity loans are based on members’ contribution to Pag-IBIG while housing loans will depend on the amount needed to put up a standard home or to repair existing ones.
The Pag-IBIG has granted calamity loans to its members after this city has been declared under the state of calamity brought about by last month’s standoff.
Pag-IBIG Regional Manager Cesar Bazan said they will continue to receive application for calamity and housing loans from the Fund members in this city especially those who are residence from the “areas of concerns.”
The “areas of concerns” are the adjoining barangays of Mariki, Rio Hondo, Sta. Barbara, Sta. Catalina, Kasanyangan, Talon-Talon, Mampang, and Arena Blanco.
