TARLAC CITY, Tarlac, (PNA) — For the second year in a row, the province of Tarlac has been named by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as the most business friendly province in the entire country.
The nationwide search, in which Tarlac bested the provinces of Isabela, Camarines Sur, Bulacan and La Union, is a way for the biggest business organization in the country to recognize cities, municipalities and provinces that established efforts for investments in their respective areas.
PCCI based the award on five criteria: trade, investments and tourism promotions; public-private sector partnership; micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) development; quality management system, innovations and human resource development and inter-local government relations.
The local government unit (LGU) award adopts the slogan “What’s good for the citizenry is good for business”.
Gov. Victor Yap, in a statement, thanked the PCCI for recognizing his administration’s efforts and the province’ achievements anew during the past 12 months.
“This is an award that is dedicated for the people of Tarlac province for without their full cooperation and support to my administration’s programs and projects, this award will never be realized. I thank the PCCI anew for adjudging Tarlac the highest possible recognition it can bestow to a province,” Yap said.
Since Yap’s assumption to office in 2007, he has instituted programs and projects aimed at alleviating the plight of Tarlaquenos anchored on his administration’s four first namely “Pagkain Muna, Trabaho Muna, Edukasyon Muna and Kalusugan Muna”; “Pagsasanay na Pangkabuhayan, organically grown farm produce known as “Natural Tarlac”, and others.
Meanwhile, The Tarlac Chapter of the PCCI was adjudged the best chamber in the country.
