MANILA, (PNA) — The Department of Justice is considering the possibility of tapping the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate the circumstances behind the grenade-throwing incident at the house of a prosecutor in Davao City.
Prosecutor General Claro A. Arellano Tuesday said the Philippine National Police is already doing its own investigation.
“We are still waiting for the report of our Regional Prosecutor. We might tap the NBI to investigate,” Arellano said.
The grenade explosion happened inside the residential compound of Provincial Prosecutor Artemio Tajon on Estrada 1st St., Davao City about 1 a.m. Monday.
Initial reports said a black pick-up truck was seen speeding away from Tajon’s house shortly after the explosion took place.
Tajon and his family were unharmed, however, the explosion damaged a portion of his house.
