ILOILO CITY, (PNA) — Four classrooms in the Home Economics building of the Barotac Viejo Comprehensive High School in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo were lost to a fire Sunday.
Arson investigators said the blaze may have been caused by an overheated electric fan left running in one of the classrooms.
Fire Officer 3 Rolly Darroca said the classrooms were used by students preparing for the forthcoming Congressional District Athletic Meet as quarters but as they went out to attend mass, they forgot to turn off the fan.
The damage has been placed at P2.5 million, but no injuries were reported.
