COTABATO CITY, (PNA) — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is set to hold special polling in five villages in Buldon, Maguindanao.
This came about after voters in the affected villages, which Comelec- Maguindanao declined to divulge pending assessment, failed to participate in Monday’s barangay polls after delivery of election materials were delayed as poll saboteurs destroyed a portion of the road in Crossing Cabayuan in the area.
Sporadic firing of guns from an unidentified armed group further delayed the convoy of vehicles of soldiers and Comelec officials carrying election materials from proceeding to the remote villages.
Lawyer Udtog Tago, Comelec-Maguindanao provincial election supervisor, said they have yet to discuss as to the date of the special polls in the affected villages.
