Naic reports rude poll staff while Tanza ends peaceful village polls

Posted on October 28, 2013

By Saul Pa-a

NAIC, Cavite (PNA) -– A voter in Barangay Timalan Concepcion in Naic here has complained of a snobbish Comelec poll worker who took charge of the master list in Monday’s barangay election here.

The unnamed voter said she was ignored when she inquired on her polling precinct number and was displayed with rude behavior.

According to the voter, she approached the Board of Election staff named only as “Ma’am Biana” to check on the voting classroom number when she was snubbed with the “ewan ko” (I don’t know) reply.

She was calmed down by volunteers and watchers who told her the BEI staff may be pressured with the poll work.

The voter then turned for help from a DZJV media correspondent and Cavite journalist to complain on the rude poll worker.

Meanwhile, in Tanza, a village first councilor who ran for re-election said she, fellow re-electionist aldermen and supporters observed Comelec rules and regulations as they milled around premises allowed by the election law.

The “first” (top) councilor commonly known by her moniker as “Konse Evelyn” and supporters told mediamen of the peaceful election in their barangay.

Village folks, poll watchers and volunteers also took a break for their “merienda” (afternoon snacks) as they gathered at the school grounds to wait for and witness the official proclamation of the winners in the barangay election.
