MANILA, (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday said that good weather conditionwill prevail in many parts of the country as voters troop to the polling centers for the barangay elections.
In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Jori Loiz said Metro Manila will experience sunny to partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Northern Luzon, on the other hand, Loiz said will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains because of the northeast monsoon.
Palawan, Eastern Visayas Mindanao, he added, will have cloudy skies with light moderate rains due to an intertropical convergence zone.
Loiz said that they are monitoring a new tropical depression over the Pacific Ocean which is expected to enter the country in the next 24 to 36 hours.
Citing the agency’s numerical models, he said the cyclone near Guam may enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Once it enters the country, Loiz said it will be locally named “Vinta.”
“Vinta” would be the 22nd cyclone to enter the country for this year.
He said that PAGASA expects two to three cyclones to visit the country next month.
