MANILA, (PNA) — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD)on Monday said that the opening of the barangay elections in its six districts is generally peaceful with no major untoward incidents reported.
Senior Insp. Maricar Taqueban, QCPD public information officer, said Chief Supt. Supt. Richard Albano, the district director, has been making the rounds in polling precincts to make sure that no untoward incidents happen.
Taqueban said a big number of their personnel have been deployed in polling places to watch out for any eventuality which may be either election-related or mere petty crimes.
Taqueban added that help desks are set up outside the polling places for the public to report any crime incidents.
She said the 10 election areas of concern in the city remain peaceful as of 8:00 a.m.
