MANILA, (PNA) — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday reported that 2,937 aftershocks have been recorded since the 7.2 magnitude earthquake battered Central Visayas last Oct. 15.
This data came from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
The NDRRMC said the information is as of 12:00 a.m. Monday.
Of these aftershocks, at least 78 had been felt, the NDRRMC said.
The earthquake had affected 671,779 families or 3,217,094 people in 1,527 villages in 60 towns and six cities in six provinces.
Some 20,677 families or 105,186 people are still staying in 367 evacuation centers.
The death toll stood at 215, with 760 injured and eight still missing.
