MANILA, (PNA) — Vice President Jejomar Binay and his family cast their votes for the barangay elections at the San Antonio National High School in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City at around 10 am Monday.
The vice president, accompanied by his wife former Makati City Mayor Elenita Binay, voted in a polling desk for senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) at the lobby of the school.
They were assisted by the Board of Election Inspector Chairwoman Wilma Paz and other members of the board.
In an interview with the Philippines News Agency, Raymond Zervoulakos, school property custodian, said the Binay couple opted not to vote in their assigned precinct because Mrs. Binay is currently recovering from a knee surgery.
The school principal could not be reached for comment as she conducted inspection of the polling precincts.
Meanwhile, Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay Jr. and Senator Nancy Binay voted at their designated precinct, Precinct 550-C, located at the 4th floor of the school.
The Binay family has been registered voters of Barangay San Antonio since 1986, according to Mr. Zervoulakos.
“The Binays undergo the usual procedure in casting their votes during elections. Just like ordinary voters, they fall in line and wait for their turns to vote,” he related.
The San Antonio National High School has 6 clustered precincts and has a total of 3,300 registered voters which are mostly comprised of middle aged and senior citizens.
