MANILA, (PNA) –- The Philippine peso further strengthened on Friday, boosted by bleak dollar sentiment.
The local unit closed at 43.05 from 43.09 on Thursday.
”It is still due to weak US dollar sentiment. More of regional (movements),” a trader said.
He said some wary investors also adopted a wait-and-see approach on China’s move to tighten its credit.
Volume of trade was thin at P529.40 million from P727.90 million previously.
Intraday high hit 43.11 to a dollar, while intraday low settled at 43.
