MANILA, (PNA) –The Makati city government is eyeing to use “zombies” to boost its tourism industry this Halloween.
Carmelito Anzures, Makati City Consultant on Tourism Affairs, said an event dubbed as “Makati After Dark: Run and Survive Hallowfest” aims to attract both local and foreign tourists to come to the country’s financial capital.
The event also called “Fiesteval” will be highlighted by a “fantasy run” featuring 3,000 zombies, which is more than 10 times as usual.
He said this is the first time the city will be staging such event, in partnership with JR Usi Presents, Inc. the accredited event organizer.
“The event is in line with our thrusts of promoting and developing tourism in Makati City,” he added.
The festival scheduled on October 31, the eve of Halloween, will also be the largest gathering of music, food, cars, comics, cosplay and running enthusiasts in a street party unlike any other.
