DAET, Camarines Norte, (PNA) -–The provincial government of Camarines Norte is using the P2.2-million fund provided by an international donor to equip lying-in clinics with modern facilities.
Gov. Edgardo Tallado on Thursday here said that among the equipment to be provided are delivery tables, wheelchairs, stretchers, blood pressure apparatus or sphygmomanometers and hospital beds.
Tallado said the provincial government will use the P2.2 million granted by the Espanola de Cooperacion Internacional para el Desarollo (AECID) in acquiring these furnishings.
Given priority in the acquisition of the equipment, he said, are six barangays in the province where lying in clinics exist but remain ill-equipped.
These barangays are Mambalite, Daet; Calaguas Island and Banocboc of Vinzons; Pambuhan, Mercedes; San Isidro, San Lorenzo Ruiz; Cabuluan, Sta. Elena and Exciban, Labo.
Construction of lying-in clinics in these barangays was initiated by the provincial government through the Basic Emergency Maternal and Obstetrical New Born Care of the Department of Health and under the sponsorship of the AECID.
