MANILA, (PNA) — Most parts of the country except Northern Luzon will experience fair weather until this weekend, the state bureau said on Friday.
PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura said that until Sunday, parts of Northern Luzon will continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with passing light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
The rest of the country including Metro Manila, he added will experience partly cloudy skies to at times cloudy with possible passing rains in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
Pura also said that the agency issued a gale warning as strong to gale-force winds associated with northeast monsoon is expected to affect the Northern Luzon and eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it said.
Pura said the agency continues monitoring a cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
He said the cyclone with international name Lekima has a “very slim” chance of entering the PAR and is not expected to affect any part of the country.
Earlier, forecasters said that Lekima may enter Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by weekend and will have a track similar to Urduja.
Once another cyclone enters the Philippine territory, Pura said it will be locally named “Vinta.”
