MANILA, (PNA) — The Supreme Court failed to make a ruling Friday on the petition seeking the issuance of a temporary restraining order against the use of the alleged questionable Disbursement Acceleration Program Fund.
This was after the justices decided to defer the voting on whether it is necessary to issue a TRO against the DAP Fund.
During their special en banc session, the justices also decided to reset the date of the oral arguments on the legality of DAP.
The SC said instead of Nov. 19, 2013, the oral arguments will be held on Nov. 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. and if it is necessary, the Court is ready to tackle the case the whole day.
The Office of the Solicitor General earlier asked, through the opposition and manifestation if filed before the SC, they should first be allowed to submit a consolidated comment on the petitions against DAP and conduct the oral arguments before ruling on the grant of a TRO against the “stimulus program”.
There are now six petitions filed before the SC against DAP, including the petitions filed by former Manila Councilor Greco Belgica; former Iloilo City congressman and erstwhile Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Augusto “Boboy” L. Syjuco, Jr.; Manuelito Luna, Philippine Constitution Association; Integrated Bar of the Philippines and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan.
